Ouch. I can only imagine the swirls, marring and scratches on her. :(

I know I'm OCD about cleaning cars and wash techniques and that the vast majority, hell, almost everyone isn't but it's still painful to see a contact machine wash like that.

It actually doesn't scratch cars when used properly. As I did. Presoaking FTW.

But then again, my car turned 230k on the way home, and between the previous owner's penchant for highway driving, and the other previous owner's penchant for banging shit against it like child seats, and MY penchant for not giving a shit.... its already pretty dinged, scratched, and rusted in spots.

Lol.

The bristles are prone to micro marring of the paintwork though. No matter how soft the bristles are and how much you've prewashed, those bristles whirling round at a few hundred RPMs along with the impact do a lot of damage.

Never seen one get THAT bad, been washing all my cars (some cared for much more than the Camry) at the same place with the same carwash (actually we broke one, so this is carwash #2) for nearly 10 years.

I myself am the car wash for friends and colleagues at work.

I know I'm very anal about car presentation and wash with the most minimal of contact to minimise the risk of swirls.
